Corporate Social Research Center
The Citizens Index® represents what we believe to be the most promising companies of the
large-cap growth sector.
Comprised of approximately 300 companies chosen for industry
representation, financial soundness, and corporate responsibility, the index was designed as a
representation of diversified exposure to large-cap growth stocks with the objective of long-term
capital appreciation. What sets the Citizens Index apart is the integration of social screening
into its investment analysis process. In addition to traditional fundamental research, companies
are subjected to rigorous social and environmental screening in order to eliminate companies whose
corporate behavior or line of business could become an impediment to performance. We believe this
aspect of the investment process provides a unique value ― simply unavailable through
traditional fund managers.
Note: The Citizens Index is a proprietary equity index that is
maintained by Citizens Advisers, Inc., the adviser to Citizens Funds. Performance of the Citizens
Index is not intended to represent the performance of the Citizens 300 Fund. The S&P 500 Index is
an unmanaged broad-based index that includes 500 widely held U.S. companies. Past performance of
market indexes is not an indication of future performance. Indexes are unmanaged, and you cannot
invest directly in them. Investing in the Citizens 300 Fund involves fees and expenses, which are
not reflected in the performance of the Citizens Index. The value of an investment in the Citizens
300 Fund will fluctuate so that an investor's shares, when redeemed, may be worth more or less than
their original cost.
